As an internationally operating company in the energy and building technology area, we are aware of our responsibility: we pay more attention to sustainability and responsible handling of the resources that are used with our products and services.

Quality management

For more than 100 years, we have had one guiding principle at Burkhardt: "We measure the quality of our products and services by the satisfaction of our customers."

In order to support and safeguard the quality of our product and our process, we introduced a quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 in 2014.

Energy management

Because of the fact that resources are becoming increasingly scarce, the responsible use of energy is becoming more and more important. Burkhardt GmbH has been committed to the efficient and sustainable use of energy with its energy and building technology divisions for decades. By manufacturing our combined heat and power plants and wood gasifiers based on the use of wood, we are relying on the use of renewable energy sources and therefore making our contribution to reducing energy-related greenhouse gas emissions. This endeavour is emphasised by operating several of our own CHP plants at our headquarters in Mühlhausen.

We committed ourselves to improving energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption by introducing the DIN EN ISO 50001:2018 energy management system in 2024. Our energy management is based on the systematic recording of energy use and energy consumption and the evaluation thereof.
