The wood gas CHP´s from the Burkhardt company with a maximum output of 180 kWel are already well known. Now an exciting, new system has been developed - the CHP ECO 340 HG
At the heart of the CHP is a V12 gas engine from Liebherr. As was the case with the Burkhardt wood gas CHPs that are already familiar, some modifications were also required here to enable the unit to operate with synthesis gas. Experience of modifying an engine of this performance class had already been gained in the successful repowering project in Grassau.
Two wood gasifiers are connected in series to the CHP and supply it simultaneously with wood gas. The new CHP ECO 340 HG is currently being put through its paces on the test stand. In the future, the entire system, which will be installed in January 2019, will produce 340 kW of electrical and 520 kW of thermal energy.
