Sludge drying for project UPhO in Michelstadt
With the UPhO project (Company for Phosphate Recycling in the Odenwald), the sewage plant in Michelstadt, Hesse, confirms itself as a pioneer in the sustainable utilization of sludge. As an experienced partner in the field of sludge drying, BURKHARDT provides an important component for the recovery of the vital raw material phosphorus. In the future, a maximum of 50 tons of dewatered sludge per day from the own as well as from surrounding sewage plants will be dried with the BURKHARDT DRYLINE 8.30 in Michelstadt. A three-stage mono-combustion plant of the company Werkstätten heating-systems GmbH generates the heat required for this purpose. The dried sludge functions here as a valuable fuel for energy self-sufficient heat supply. Phosphorus can be recovered from the resulting ash and subsequently used as fertilizer in agriculture.
We are looking forward to a joint project with the company Werkstätten heating-systems and the AVMM (Abwasserverband Mittlere Mümling).
